Here at Broomfield Osteopathic Clinic I continue to work really hard to help my patients. I believe in offering the client professional care alongside lasting results. Now after 4 year’s working within the community as an Osteopath I am bringing Pilates rehabilitation into the heart of my business.
I really believe the key to good health is in education and core strength. With this is mind I am continuing to invest heavily in my training and in my equipment.
It is well documented that the New Zealand All Blacks include Pilates in their fitness programme but did you also know that the Aussie Canterbury Bulldogs also have compulsory Pilate’s classes to help prevent injuries.
With the Olympic athletes heading to London this year all eyes are on health and fitness and there are Premier League footballers and England cricket team members who all benefit from doing Pilates.
I am pleased to tell you that you do not have to be a professional sportsman to enjoy the benefits of Pilates. Pilates was developed for both men and woman but today only 25% of those attending classes are men. Why is this?
I know that Pilates is a valuable form of exercise because it develops your core strength and improves your posture and that's something that men can benefit from just as much as women. It is also helping me come back from injury after years of forceful military exercise and posture.

BUPA Wellness website recommends Pilates exercises as an “effective exercise without strain alongside yoga and Swiss ball exercises.” Those core muscles which Pilates targets so perfectly can help alleviate back problems and help develop a flat stomach. Two things that top the list of many a man's health and fitness wish list.
